Every week, we share the story of an inspiring Remote Worker and Remotive reader, here is Youjin's story:

1.- Can you please tell us a bit more about: Who are you, and what do you do? :)

Hi! I’m Youjin. This year, I’m making a documentary called One Way Ticket a story about digital nomads and location independent people.

Since 2007, I’ve become one myself. I’ve been on the road interviewing these people for tech media. I’ve reported on it from San Francisco to Seoul and from Bali to Beijing. I want to document a social and cultural revolution that’s happening in the life and work around the world.

Millions of people are leaving their homes, neighborhoods, cities and countries permanently to become perpetual travelers. They work online, on their laptops, for companies back home, or as entrepreneurs or freelancers. Documenting this new rising generation would be one of the most amazing projects I've done, so I'm very excited :)

I'm doing this project independently, and I'm crowdfunding on my website without Kickstarter.

(Crowdfunding without Kickstarter — How I raised $5,000 for my documentary in 2 weeks, and as well, From nothing to something ; the results of crowdfunding my documentary).

Every week I upload a short video clip from what I’ve filmed on my YouTube channel, and it will show you a glimpse of this documentary. I hope you enjoy it :D

2.- Why do you work remotely, and how does it feel?

I used to work for several tech media, and traveled as much as I can. Suddenly I just realized I can do both at the same time, instead of giving up one of them.

I started working as a freelancer writer and did several freelancing projects such as translating English/Korean/Chinese and coordinating international events for the tech media company.

I'm working remotely because I can.

And I think living as a digital nomad has become a more workable choice for lots of people. Contrary to a very common misconception – digital nomadism is not about a fancy way to escape normal life. It is the creation of normal life where one has access to more options, flexibility and freedom to choose where you live and work, because there’s really no reason to be tied to a single location for most of your life.

3.- What software do you use?

I spend lots of time with Adobe Premiere to edit my footages of course. I have Gmail open every day.

I communicate and collaborate with people using Slack, Skype, Appear and Hangouts.

I use cloud services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Copy and Amazon cloud.

My favorite messenger is Telegram, since Telegram is very light and fast, even with the very bad internet connection. I can't live without Telegram :D

4.- What would be your ideal setup?

I'd like to have my own satellite so that I don't need to worry about the internet connection anywhere.
Cozy bedroom with work desk and chair, MacBook on the Roost stand, and near surfing spots would be my perfect dream setup :D
